Mike McBrayer has been the head softball coach of the Grayson Vikings since 2015, compiling a record of 290-151 in that time. For his coaching career, he is closing in on 900 wins. 

During his reign at Grayson, he has coached seven All-Americans, won two NTJCAC Conference titles, and two Region 5 Tournament titles. 

The 2021 season was a special season. the Grayson Softball team went 49-7, and made their first ever NJCAA D1 Softball National Tournament appearance. The Vikings made it all the way to the National Championship game and claimed the title of National Runner Up. 

McBrayer was named the NTJCAC Softball Coach of the Year in the 2021 and 2023 seasons. His staff was named the NFCA Midwest Coaching Staff of the Year in 2021 and 2023.  

Prior to Grayson, he spent six seasons coaching at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Oklahoma. There, he coached three NJCAA All-Americans.  

McBrayer and his wife Kara just welcomed their first grandchild in May 2023.
