Ten Viking Baseball players moving on to next level

-OF Tyler Brodrick (Oral Roberts University): Brodrick, a 2024 2nd Team All Conference selection, hit .376 with three home runs and 45 RBI in 53 games this season. He led the team in RBI's, and was second in runs scored (42), hits (65), doubles (10) and stolen bases (15). He joins an Oral Roberts Team coming off a Summit League Championship, and an NCAA postseason appearance. 

-OF Trey Oblas (University of New Orleans): Oblas appeared in 30 games for the Vikings last season, finishing with a .256 average with five home runs and 21 RBI. He stole four bases, and finished tied for third in triples. Oblas will join the University of New Orleans who are coming off a third place finish in the Southland Conference, eclipsing the 30 win mark for the sixth time in the last eight seasons. 

-UTL Walker Polk (University of Texas): Polk, a 2024 1st Team All-Conference/All Region 5 North Outfielder appeared in 47 games for the Vikings this past season. He hit .323 with nine home runs and 44 RBI. He led the team in home runs, doubles (13),  slugging percentage (.606), and finished second in RBI, and triples (2). Polk heads to the state capital to join a Texas Longhorn team coming off a 36 win season. 

-RHP Cade Sharp (University of Oklahoma): Sharp, a Rockwall native appeared in 15 games last season He finished the year with a 3-4 record, converting one save. He struck out 36 in 25.1 innings pitched. Sharp will head to Norman to join the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners are coming off their second 40 win season in three years, and a Big 12 regular season championship title. 

-RHP David Jeon (Abilene Christian University): Jeon, a native of Coppell, appeared in 14 games this past season. He finished 3-2, striking out 21 in 27.1 innings pitched. Jeon will take his talents to Abilene Christian University next year. Abilene Christian secured their fourth consecutive 30-win season, coming one victory away from playing for a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Title. 

-C Jacob Lang (University of Texas-Arlington): Lang, a catcher from Krugerville, appeared in 33 games for Grayson. He hit .255 with a home run and 24 RBI. Lang came up with the clutch hit several times last year, including a big two out, two strike, two RBI single to complete an eight run comeback against Weatherford. He will join the UT-Arlington Mavericks this fall, coming off a 22 win season. The Mavericks compete in the Division I Western Athletic Conference. 

-RHP, Beau Beaty (Prairie View A&M University): Beaty, a right handed pitcher from Richmond, appeared in a team high 21 games last season. He finished 2-3 with 19 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched. He had a season high four strikeouts against New Mexico in the regional tournament. Beaty will take his talents to Prairie View A&M, who were a 29-win team a season ago. 

-LHP Trenton Shaw (Grambling State University): Shaw, a left handed pitcher from DeSoto, made 12 appearances (11 starts) for Grayson last year. Shaw finished 3-2 with a 4.15 ERA. He was second on the team in innings pitched (43.1) and led the team in strikeouts (68). Shaw had six games giving up just one hit, and had a season high 11 strikeouts against Hill, followed up by a 10 strikeout performance against McLennan. Shaw committed to Grambling State University, who won 26 games a season ago. Grambling State is a Division I school, competing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. 

-INF John Maldonado Jr (University of Texas-San Antonio): Maldonado Jr, a 2024 2nd Team All-Conference selection from Kaufman, appeared in 48 games last season. He hit .299 with a home run, 32 RBI and stole four bases. Maldonado Jr had a season high three RBI in four games this season, and had 16 multi-hit games. He will join forces with the University of Texas-San Antonio next season. The Roadrunners were a 32 win team, and finished second in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) a season ago. 

-UTL Blake McCarthy (Belhaven University): McCarthy, a sophomore from Mandeville, LA played all around the infield for the Vikings in 2024, but saw extensive time at third base down the stretch. He hit .264 with two home runs and 18 RBI in 39 games. He was third on the team with 11 stolen bases. McCarthy will head to Jackson, MS to play baseball at Belhaven University. Belhaven is a Division III school, coming off a 25 win season last year. Belhaven competes in the Collegiate Conference of the South.
